Valentine's Day: Getting Romantic with Fashion

So the love day is drawing closer and you are looking forward to be with your special one looking your best...hmm..but then I wonder when all of us differ in one way or the other how can those glosssy fashion magazines with their hi-nose clientele be right in telling everyone to dress up like barbie dolls or Angelina Jolies' of the world all the time...for most of the occasions
We all are different. Aren't we? Our notion of love, expectations, love expressions... differs.I mean our likes and dislikes, moods, personality types matter when it comes to dressing up for the special day. How can we all want to dress up similar? Like not all of us like to "dress it up" for the occasion or even if we do, some like it keep it comfortable, some like it quirky, some of us swear by the current trends no matter what...

So in my quest for an answer, I turned to my good old TV for valentine's day styling. Why TV?
Now who better than Carrie Bradshaw & gang(sex and the city) and Serena van der Woodsen (gossip girl) could tell us what's best when it comes to everyday and special occasion styling. And "Love"..do I really need to tell you why....these series dealt with women with varying personalities, dealing with life and yet they all looked so swanky and glamours (not dressy). I am sure all of us can somewhere identify with atleast one of these lovable characters. So here it is...

Character traits-warm, witty, vulnerable, dreamy...Carrie Bradshaw
A flowy gown for the day that's hopelessly romantic with loose curls

Character traits-Sharp,aggressive,bold,go-getter ;)...Samantha
A corset dress with chunky jewellery making a statement and completing the "i am game" look

Character traits-practical, no-nonsense,logical ....Miranda
A dress(dump the conventional pinks and reds), with clean cuts that's comfortable yet flirty with it's asymmetrical neckline. A clutch for accessory with high heel pumps.

Character traits-Naive,confused,sweet,cute... Charlotte York
Now not all of us like to go on a big date or have the time for it.The truth is most of us stay home..(oh!come on now..accept it..) but then...so what?? Don't spend your time dreaming ...only if we could.

Instead plan your lovey-dovey evening at home.Keep your styling nice and simple. Play with colours if you like or stick to pinks and reds to get into the mood and accessorize yourself with loads of love:)Who cares for glitzy overcrowded hotels and equally glitzy overpriced bills!!

Character traits -Charming, social, confident, curious, fussy at times
Serena van der Woodsen aka Blake Lively from Gossip Girl, the new age Carrie Bradshaw perhaps.

Valentine's day casual look-blush pink wide pants with a neutral color top and bag. To add a dash of color you can put on a contrast color jewellery

A romantic printed dress for V-day.Yes, why not.Look elegant by pairing your short dress with a trendy belt and a statement bag

Keep it fun and carefree with shorts and a long sleeveless a-line top for the love day. Layering is a good option to get that cool & chic look in no time. Accessorize with girly hairbands and neckpieces
