Filmfare Awards 2015 Red Carpet Fashion

The awards in their judgement did a good job. For a change Shahrukh Khan ,Deepika or Kareena were not the winners. They had become that predictable! It was heartening to see some really good performances being recognised with Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut bagging the best actor and actresses awards respectively.

However the fashion scene was a bit of a disappointment. The A-listers of bollywood fell short of giving us much to be impressed with and I guess a lot of stars gave the event a miss. Nevertheless, here's presenting some good AHA! fashion moments with the not so good OH NO ones too.

For a change let's start with the boys. It was really hard to find something worth showcasing here. Took hours..seriously. Wonder how many black and grey suits to these people possess and what are the designers doing? When will they push the boundaries, or are they all waiting for someone to do it there ...Hollywood ,I mean and then we follow...boring...

Shahid Kapoor was anyways gleaming and he had his reasons right. He is here mainly due to his new hairstyle that made all the difference to his look.

I like his new hair do , loved it since I saw his pic with Alia Bhatt from the sets of Shaandar

Fawad Khan is so handsome that probably even in his pajamas he looks hot. He is here purely because he is good looking..that's it. His suit otherwise is pretty average.

Manish Ji did a good job with his clean look and yes it's a good break from the black suit. But I wish he had added something more to his Nehru jacket

Siddharth Malhotra- He atleast experimented by opting for a t-shirt instead of the "tide-white" shirt. Not a fan of those shoes though. Good attempt

Oh No-VJ Andy!! What's gone wrong with him.I always admired his dressing sense but here the printed two tone blue jacket is doing no good, it made him look bulkier than he is

Karan Johar -Couldn't have completed my Oh no list without him.White stripes ,a maroon rose with a ever ill fitted suit .. messed up all the way yet again!

Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan ,Salman Khan...way to boring to be mentioned.

The Ladies Now
We will start with the good ones. Neha Dhupia may not have made her career in movies but sure has nailed it as a "celebrity with a good fashion sense". She looks chic here with almost no accessories barring the clutch and a neat hair up do. What I don't like is the screaming leather bow on the dress

Richa Chadda- Surprise!!! Always on the receiving end for her styling, the girl managed to put a decent look together for the big night. The gown is a tad bit boring but again like Neha's a neat hair-do with minimalist look, she too got it right this time

Shraddha Kapoor- She opted for a pale flowy gown but it did wonders for the young actress. I like her off-screen more than on-screen. Not all girls her age can carry this colour so well

Sonam Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin- Both the girls get brownie points for being non-conventional. However here these are borderline cases. Sonam,as always looks good but the sarong like skirt with a choker doesn't really go well with the occasion. Had it been a beach wedding this outfit would have been, bang-on

Kalki- She has never shied away from doing what she likes and that's why I guess Nikhil Thampi is one of her favorite designers who is equally experimental.I likes the calf-length sari inspired by traditional dancers from south India but the golden pants were a put-off. Her hairstyle and earrings too left much to be desired for, The belt was a good addition though

Madhuri Dixit -She finally looked comfortable in a strapless gown and wasn't looking over the top. Mrs Nene looked pretty
The Sari Brigade

Rekha opted for bright kanjivaram ...again..... with a potli bag...again....She looked good but aren't we bored of the same look over and over again. She still looks ravishing,so why not try something new

Dia Mirza- Looks like marriage is ageing her. She is one of the most beautiful celebrities out there but a sari with jhumkees to the Filmfare awards night did not do justice to the event. Where is the glamour?

Now the Oh-Nos

Nargis Fakhri -Girl, what is this? You look like a desperate woman in her forties trying hard to fit in her teenage daughter's clothes and added the bangs in a bid to look like Katrina Kaif

Alia Bhatt- Looks like  Sonakshi Sinha finally had her revenge. It's Alia's turn to change her stylist. The gown was all over the place, the drape was not at all flattering, brown earrings & hair colour with golden pumps did nothing to the talented lady

Kajol and Vidhya Balan -Both the ladies disappointed with their choice of clothes, make up and hair do. Kajol's bulging arms and Vidya's sleeves! no harm is staying curvy but if you don't want to lose weight you ought to hide it, right?

The most disappointing picture was presented by Deepika Padukone who otherwise is always well dressed. This look is appalling, done in poor taste. Never again please

The one who stole show was none other than Sonali Bendre, Her structured no-fuss orange gown was a real winner. Loved her cuff ,clutch and the eye make up. She looked like a diva with right amount of glamour and grace put in together for the event. Loved the actress who is redefining the 40's for women in India. Brilliant!
